Born in 1988 in Istanbul, Ali Emre Doğramacı began his design education at Istanbul Bilgi University’s Visual Communication Design Department. He participated in a student exchange program at Sint-Lucas Beeldende Kunst’s Graphic Design Department in Ghent, Belgium, and later earned his master’s degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, completing the MFA Design / Designer as Author + Entrepreneur program.
Following his graduation, he joined the New York-based graphic design studio MTWTF as an intern, contributing to projects for both cultural and commercial institutions, including the Brooklyn Museum’s temporary signage system, the Buell Center’s House Housing exhibition, and the Astor Place branding project.
Upon returning to Istanbul, he worked as a graphic designer for the 14th Istanbul Biennial, Saltwater, organized by İKSV in collaboration with Milan-based studio LeftLoft.
Since 2015, he has been operating as a one-man studio. Notable works include identity and communication materials for Apricots from Damascus, an apexart exhibition hosted by SALT; publication design for A Halo of Blackness Upon Our Heads, an exhibition by Ahmet Doğu İpek at Arter; and the monograph Eternal Resonance, published in conjunction with the Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu exhibition at Dirimart.
